Office Makeover: The Big Reveal! A Colorful and Inspiring Workspace

After weeks of anticipation, the time has finally come! I’m thrilled to unveil the complete transformation of my office space. Get ready to be inspired by this vibrant and personalized workspace, designed to boost creativity and productivity.

Yes, that was the “before.” A little overwhelming, right? Now, prepare for the amazing “after!”

Voilà! What a difference, wouldn’t you say? (We’re still perfecting cable management, but it’s already a huge improvement!)

The entire makeover was guided by our initial inspiration boards. We wanted a space that was both functional and reflected our personalities. One key element was incorporating staggered floating cabinets. After exploring various options, we chose Akurum kitchen cabinets from IKEA. They offer a wide range of finishes, allowing you to find the perfect match for your style. We opted for the birch frame with white doors. Installation was straightforward, just remember to use the appropriate wall anchors and, of course, a helpful assistant!

For the desk, we selected the Vika Amon desk, also from IKEA. To add a touch of warmth and texture, we covered it with wood grain contact paper. A slight measuring mishap (we’ve all been there!) led to us needing to saw one of the desktops in half. Thankfully, power tools came to the rescue!

Since my husband is a passionate music and movie enthusiast, we needed to create a dedicated space for his equipment. A corner desk provided the ideal solution. We installed a hook underneath the popular Lack shelf for convenient storage of headphones and other gear when not in use. And, of course, a designated area was essential to showcase his movie posters and collectibles.
