DIY Printable Halloween Decorations: Affordable Spooky Fun

Halloween is just around the corner, and what better way to get into the spooky spirit than with some DIY decorations? I absolutely love decorating for the holidays, especially using paper. Materials You’ll Need

• Halloween Pyramid Box Printable: This is the template you’ll use to create the boxes. Download and save it to your computer.
• Scissors: A good pair of scissors is essential for accurately cutting out the pyramid box templates.
• Ruler: A ruler will help you create straight and precise score lines.
• Bone Folder: A bone folder (or a similar scoring tool) is used to create crisp, clean folds along the score lines. This is crucial for achieving a professional-looking finish.
• Sticky Tape: Regular sticky tape will be used to secure the string inside the boxes.
• Double-Sided Tape or Glue: Double-sided tape is recommended for assembling the boxes, but you can also use glue if you prefer.

Step-by-Step Instructions: Crafting Your Spooky Pyramids

Now that you have all your materials ready, let’s get started with the fun part – creating your very own Halloween pyramid boxes!

Step 1: Print and Score

First, download the Halloween pyramid box printable and print it onto white A4 cardstock. Make sure your printer settings are set to “actual size” or “100%” to ensure the template prints correctly.

Once you’ve printed the template, grab your ruler and bone folder. Carefully score along all the dashed white lines on the printable. Additionally, score at every point where two different colors meet. This will create clean fold lines and make the assembly process much easier.

For each pyramid box, you’ll be scoring a total of 6 lines. Take your time and ensure the score lines are crisp and even.

Step 2: Cut Out the Template

After scoring all the lines, use your scissors to carefully cut out the pyramid box template. Follow the solid black lines, ensuring you cut accurately and cleanly.

Step 3: Fold Along the Score Lines

Now it’s time to fold along all the lines you scored in Step 1. Fold each line crisply and neatly, using your bone folder to reinforce the folds if needed. This will give your pyramid box a clean and professional look.

Step 4: Attach the String

Cut a length of string that’s long enough to hang your pyramid box. Attach one end of the string to the inside of the pyramid box using a piece of tape. Make sure the string is securely attached.

Step 5: Apply Double-Sided Tape

Apply pieces of double-sided tape to each of the tabs on your pyramid box. If you’re using glue, apply a thin line of glue to each tab.

Step 6: Assemble the Box (Part 1)

Now it’s time to assemble the box! Peel the backing from the double-sided tape on one of the tabs and stick it to the corresponding side of the box. Start by sticking the colored (non-black) tab on each box to the orange triangle on that box.

For example, for the ghost box, stick the blue tab to the orange triangle. For the skull box, stick the pink tab to the orange triangle. And for the moon box, stick the purple tab to the orange triangle.

Step 7: Assemble the Box (Part 2)

Finally, fold the side of the box with the two black tabs inward and stick those tabs in place, forming a pyramid shape. Before you stick down those last two tabs, make sure the string is hanging out freely!

Decorate and Display Your Spooky Creations

Once you’ve assembled all your pyramid boxes, it’s time to get creative with displaying them! There are so many fun and spooky ways to showcase your DIY Halloween decorations.

Simply attach these little guys to the wall you’d like to decorate. Washi tape is a good option that doesn’t damage the paint!

For my living room wall, I stuck mine straight onto it using washi tape, and I added some streamers in similar colors to enhance the festive atmosphere.

But the possibilities don’t stop there! You could also attach the pyramid boxes to a piece of dowel to create a unique wall hanging. Alternatively, you could tie them to an embroidery hoop to make a proper mobile, adding a whimsical touch to your Halloween decor.
