Marble

To create a marble look, use 1/8 of a section of black clay and two 1/8 sections of white clay. Form each color into oblong pancakes. Stack the pancakes with the black layer in the center. Twist the stack once or twice, then form it into a ball. Finally, form the ball into a pancake as described in Step 1. The twisting and layering will create the beautiful veining characteristic of marble.

Gray Granite

For the gray granite effect, bake a small amount of black Sculpey. Once cooled, use a wood rasp to grate about 1 teaspoonful of the baked clay. Form a translucent pancake and press one side of it into the rasped material. The rasped black clay will create the speckled appearance of granite.
